SUNDAY CLASSES

9-10 a.m.
Nuno Felting
Presented by Barbara Crawford
Class fee: $10
By manipulating a minimum amount of wool fiber through a fine base weave we could make a felted fabric with characteristics quite different from traditional felt. Nuno felt is lightweight with drape and flexibility. There are many possibilities for transparency, exciting texture and creativity. This wonderful seminar focuses on the technique also know as laminated felting. This is a great educational opportunity for everyone no matter what your sewing or felting skill level may be.

9 a.m.-1 p.m.
Quilts of a Different Color
Presented by Irena Bluhm
Class fee: $40 Kit fee: $35
Skill level: All
Learn how easy it is to apply color using colored pencils to a small, already quilted piece, ready for painting. You don’t have to be an artist, just try to paint what you see. Don’t shy away from using bold colors and stark contrast to create a drama. You can learn how to do the shading in order to make your designs look dimensional. It is a lot of fun and very relaxing. Irena feels very passionate about what she is doing and loves sharing her experiences, the good along with the bad, so you don’t have to go through the pain of learning the lessons the hard way like she did.

The Square in a Square system is a fast and accurate way to make fantastic quilts without ever having to cut or sew triangles. Within the system are 39 different triangle units or options. Using these options, you can make half square triangles four at a time, flying geese two at a time, 60 degree diamonds and much more. The resulting points are sharp, lie very flat and are easy to achieve. The options provide the quilter with the ability to construct increasing complex patterns. This cutting system is so simple and accurate that quilters everywhere will be producing more quilts and enjoying it more!
