Lily Marie Amaru/The Wave Edge Ruler
www.thewaveedgeruler.com
Lily Marie has been addicted to needles since she was 10 years old. She is also hooked on thread, fabric, and the wonderful friends she has met while practicing her addiction. When she turned "pro" nearly 30 years ago, her first class involved sewing lingerie. Garments were always her focus until 2002 when she turned her attention to quilting. A new addiction replaced the old and now she is off and running with an entirely new and exciting way of putting pieces of cloth together. Lily Marie developed The Wave Edge Ruler in 2002. This method of cutting and piecing curves has been eagerly accepted amongst the quilting world and has made lots of positive waves along the way. That took her right into the title of her quilting book entitled Let's Make Waves. Lily Marie owned a successful sewing shop in central California for 18 years and has five years experience working for a major sewing machine company. Her pieced garments have been accepted by the Hoffman Challenge as part of their yearly traveling exhibitions. After spending many years sewing and teaching garment and machine stitchery, she now travels and teaches The Wave Edge Ruler and Simple Circles Ruler methods throughout the quilting community.
